Our Policy
The Alawi Islamic Social Centre believes that the expertise, honesty, commitment, and experience of its members is its greatest asset. The contribution of all members is critical for The Alawi Islamic Social Centre’ success and the future of the Centre depend on capable people who are committed to providing their best.
The Alawi Islamic Social Centre is a charity and non-profit organisation.
The Alawi Islamic Social Centre also understands that to obtain this level of commitment from its members it must provide a support, advice and rewarding Community environment that both, challenges members to achieve their full potential and provides them with the assistance and support they need to do this.
The Alawi Islamic Social Centre is committed to meeting this challenge by:
-
Promote and encourage members to mix with the wider community and be proud to be Australian.
-
Ensuring that the privacy and confidentiality of individuals is protected.
-
Promoting and contributing to the development and maintenance of a safe, healthy, friendly environment that is free from harassment.
-
Improve accessibility for all members to ensure they can access and use the Centre and providing an environment that encourages them to develop and prosper by focusing on improving skills and building on their strengths.
-
Avoiding disputes and resolving issues pro-actively by fostering an environment that uses consultation and facilitation to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
-
Support for selected events and initiatives within the community, be an active centre and take a leading role within the wider community
-
Ensuring that the Centre provides members with the opportunity to be heard and then listens to the views and suggestions expressed.
-
Helping members develop an appropriate balance between work requirements and the needs and demands of their family and social lives.
-
Providing a wide range of communication, assistance, support, education and learning opportunities to help develop The Centre as a “learning organisation” and position it as a Centre of Choice.

Through the implementation of this policy, it is our hope that all members be more skilled, educated and involved in the whole sort of activities within the wider community.
